Rick Howland

I have been a professional actor for 25+ years in film, tv, theatre, and imporv & sketch comedy. I have written stand-up, sketches, countless songs, web series' and 3 short films that I also directed. I currently study in LA at BGB Studio to stay sharp by working scenes with other well-established actors.

I am available and happy to rehearse with you and read for your self-tape auditions. I am also available to work on a scene or your monologue with you just to keep your acting chops sharp.

Rick Howland is a Canadian, Green Card toting LA Actor. He is best known for the role of Trick in five seasons of the hit SyFy series “Lost Girl”. Most recently Howland was the evil antagonist Mr. Hai in the feature film “Captain Tsunami’s Army”, played opposite Chris Mulkey in “A Safe Guide to Dying”, a severed head on a shelf in “Good Head”, and the Weregoat Dr. Stan in the web-series “The Vamps Next Door” which he has also written for.
Howland wrote and directed the short films “Safer At Home”, “Underwritten” and “#Inclusion Rider the movie”, he also produced, directed, and edited the web-series “Backseat with P and J”.
As a singer/songwriter you can find his album "Hold my Hand" on iTunes or your favorite streaming site. The song “She’s a Goddess” was placed in Season 4 Episode 2 of “Lost Girl”.
Selected theatre credits include: “Much Ado About Nothing”, “Veriété”, “Shooting Penguins”, “A Short History of Night”, and Mr. Tumnus in “Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe”. He created and performed in the improv and sketch comedy troupe “The Four Strombones” for over a decade.

I am empathetic, anti-prejudiced, connected to my body and voice, spatially aware, and excellent with props.
