Michele Lyman

Actor, Singer, Writer, Director, Producer. Michele Lyman was raised in Brooklyn New York, and sang in all the school choirs. After seeing the movie Fame, she became determined to audition for and get into NYC’s Music and Art High School. Auditioning was nerve-wracking, receiving the acceptance letter as a voice major was an unbelievable joy.

Michele caught the acting bug as a freshman at Sarah Lawrence College after auditioning for their highly competitive Song Class and she then immersed herself into the Workshop Theatre program. Some years after graduating from SLC, Michele took a hiatus from the biz to focus on raising her daughter. It turned into a long 15 years away. In 2015, she had to admit that she needed to return to doing this thing that kept calling at her, it was no longer an option.

Two years later, in July 2017 she wrote her first short film Getting Over, which she also produced, directed and starred in. Getting Over went on to become a multi-award-winning film on the festival circuit. It also garnered her several best actress wins, and a couple of first-time director nominations. A year later in 2018, Michele put her second film Acceptables, in the can. Acceptables has also had a very successful award-winning festival run. Both films are now available to view on Amazon Prime and YouTube.
