Mathew James French is an actor, writer, and musician currently based in Brisbane, Australia.
He has been acting and writing since 2013 and performing and writing music since 2005. Matthew teaches acting and drama to children and teens since 2020.

Mathew James French is an actor, writer, and musician currently based in Brisbane, Australia.
He has been acting and writing since 2013 and performing and writing music since 2005.
His original work includes Look At Me Now, and Grigori the Helper. He wrote, performed, composed, and directed these two one-man shows; as well as many original songs and compositions.
Matthew focusses on acting for screen and stage but enjoys seeking variety in his work. He has currently appeared in 14 short films, 3 web series, 11 stage shows, a handful of small roles in feature film and television, 5 commercials, 2 internal corporate productions, a music video, and 2 musicals.
He won an award for best actor for the short film, The Neolite, in 2017.
Matthew trained under Lisa O’Neill and Norman Price; graduating with a Bachelor of Acting and Performance and the Academic Excellence award from Canberra University/TAFE QLD in 2016. He continues to train at workshops and masterclasses, often through MEAA Equity events.
Matthew has been a MEAA member since 2014. He is a core member of two MEAA councils; focussed on improving the working artist industry and community. He has been involved in theatre and film for the last six years, and is a proud supporter and frequenter of local and independent work, and industry events. He has spoken at MEAA Equity organised graduate days in 2018 and 2019.
Matthew has been vegan since 2015 and is passionate about the positive effects of veganism, environmentalism, and mindful consumption.
