Maricruz Menchero

Hello! I would love to help you explore your scene, regardless of what stage you are at in your own practice and process. I can help you learn lines, develop a deeper, more embodied connection to character, or simply act as your reader for that last minute self tape.

I believe the work is best approached with radical love, tremendous curiosity, and a child-like sense of play. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment so you feel free to make exciting, new discoveries while present and alive in the circumstances of the story.

Training
- MFA Acting from The Theater School at DePaul University
- Stella Adler Studio of Acting (NYC)

Maricruz Menchero is an actress, architect, and artist fluent in both English and Spanish. Originally from California, Maricruz grew up in Texas doodling in travel journals, constructing mazes out of seat cushions, and staging highly dramatic plays with her dolls and stuffed animals.

Maricruz’s love for drawing and math led her to study architecture at The University of Notre Dame - where she spent a year studying abroad in Rome, living and breathing the classical structures of the greats. Her passion for performing eventually led her to Stella Adler’s Evening Conservatory in New York City and, subsequently, to The Theatre School at DePaul University, where she graduated in June 2020 with her MFA in Acting.

Favorite roles include Madame Desmortes, a 75-year old British biddy confined to a wheelchair, in Christopher Fry’s "Ring Round the Moon" and Melissa, an incredibly ambitious and troubled trauma counselor, in Eve Ensler’s "Necessary Targets." Favorite musicals include "Les Miserables" and "Fiddler on the Roof."

In her spare time, Maricruz enjoys dancing on stationary bikes, soaking up the sun whenever possible, and meeting the Bernese Mountain dogs in her neighborhood.
