Glennis McCarthy
I am an experienced improv comedian and voice artist with over 20 years of professional performance and voiceover work. Having trained at both UCB and The Groundlings (and with an extensive background in improv off-Broadway in NY) I excel in creating dynamic, high-energy scenes.
As a reader, I bring a blend of spontaneity, adaptability, and deep understanding of character, rhythm, and tone. I am known for my ability to create a supportive, relaxed environment that allows actors to focus on their craft while getting the most out of every read. Whether you're working on a quick audition or diving into multiple takes to find the perfect choice, I am committed to helping you achieve your best performance.

As an improv comedian, I have gone through both the UCB and Groundlings training programs. Recently, at The Groundlings, I completed their core improv track in 6 months without repeating levels and was invited to join their writing track.
At UCB in NY, I was on a house team and performed on weekends with my two-person musical improv group. I’ve toured the country performing comedy at festivals in Charleston, Providence, Chicago, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, NY, and beyond.
I originated the role of Katherine Kavanaugh in the North American tour of 50 Shades! The Musical Parody, as well as a month-long run at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles. Kirk Douglas actually attended one of our performances... you haven't lived until you've performed a "j*zz ballet" in front of America's Grandpa.
In voiceover, I trained with Richard Horvitz (voice of Invader Zim) for animation and Elaine Craig for commercials. My resume includes hundreds of jobs, from national commercials and promos for Lifetime and TV Land, to animation, video games, radio, and more.
I was replaced as an original cast member on The Electric Company, but hey, so was Lin-Manuel Miranda.
