Dale Madison

Dale Guy Madison is an artist, educator, writer, actor, filmmaker, and former host for the QVC network. He received his first performer screen film credit in the original 1988 John Waters movie, Hairspray. A nationally recognized and award-winning doll designer, Madison has exhibited at the William Grant Still Art Center. Dale arrived in Los Angeles in 1999 with his first one-man show, FREEda Slave: Mask of a Diva, which ran four months at the Hudson Backstage Theater. His show addressed issues of cross-dressing and intra-discrimination within the gay community and earned a Backstage West “Pick of the Week.” He released his memoirs entitled, DREAMBOY: My Life as a QVC Host & Other Greatest Hits in 2008. The film version received “Best LGBT film” at the 2008 San Diego Black Film Festival. In 2008, he also wrote and produced another short film; The Panty Man (starring Shangela of RuPaul’s Drag Race) based on one of his popular spoken word poems. He is also one of the moderators for Voices on Paper (table read for actors and feedback by script doctors)That film has been screened at festivals around the world.
