Chad Darnell

Hi! Working as a location casting director has paid my bills for the past thirty years, but I'm also an actor/ writer/ director/ newbie author. Currently based in the Southeast (Atlanta is home), but lived in Los Angeles for 16 years.

Some of my location casting credits include SELMA, MAGIC MIKE XXL, FLORIDA GIRLS, KILLERMAN, and most recently BRIDE HARD, THE OTHER ZOEY, ONE FAST MOVE, THE VAMPIRES OF THE VELVET LOUNGE and WALDEN.

Because of my experience "in the room" reading actors for features and television, I'm very experienced in breaking down a script quickly with actors and getting to the heart of the scene, finding the beats, levels, and intentions needed for a great audition to send up to the director and producers.

I've taught acting classes and workshops for over a decade. I have been a guest speaker and coach for high school seniors working monologues and interview prep for colleges for over 25 years.

My novel BUYING THE FARM is currently being pitched as a series by a prominent production company. I have several screenplays in various stages of pre-pro.
