"Violet is incredible. I have been a professional in television, film, and theatre for over 15 years and she creates a great atmosphere to work, and she is a fantastic instinctual actress as well! Book her! I know I will again!" -- Cedric Sanders, Grey's Anatomy, The Social Network, American Gangster

"Violet is a fantastic reader, the last time she read for me I got 'pinned'! Thank you!!!! Highly recommend!" -- Kayo Terrell, HBOMax Original, Rap Sh!t

"Violet is a total pro in all areas and just NICE and FUN too!" -- Sheila Ball, RADA alum, American Trash, A Prince and Pauper Christmas

"What can I say that I haven’t already said a million times…SHE’S THE BEST!!! Book with her. You won’t regret it. Kind. Funny. Insightful. I am starting to think though that maybe I should start writing bad reviews so I can have her exclusively as my reader/coach alone. " -- Nicholas Anthony Reid, Dear White People, The Neighborhood, Good Trouble

"Was surprised to find a reader with a strong director's background and generous empathy for actors. Violet had a keen sense of where the beats were in my scene, and let me ask a lot of questions. Book her now!" -- Sean Tarjyoto, Emmy-award winning Hulu Original, Shrill

"Truly the best reader I've worked with. Dove right in with incredible ideas to add depth, realness, and truth. Huge fan!!" -- Jane Bruce, Broadway's Jagged Little Pill, singer, song-writer of full-length album My Bed

ABOUT SERVICES
I can play urban American, Southern American, typical crime drama/medical drama stuff, the valley girl, deadpan nerd/intellect (think "Daria"), bratty/sassy teenager -- those tend to be the norm but overall, my range is good. I'm quick to pick up tone and comedic timing.

If you need me for a quick cold read and are in a rush, I'm your girl. If you want to go deeper into the scene I can help you with that as well. Let's analyze and make some specific choices that'll get you seen.

Favorite me (click the heart right above my reader fees) if you'd like to work with me in the future! It'll be easier to find me that way. Don't hesitate to reach out to me on Facebook or email me at m.violetharris@gmail.com if you'd like a book a future session! Tootles. :)

15 MINUTES
We may not be able to get to the direction if it's a longer scene or if you have multiple scenes. This is a great option for shorter scenes.

can be used for:

  • line memorization

  • a couple of scene read-throughs

  • a few takes of your audition

30 MINUTES
This time frame is great for a couple of very short scenes or one medium scene. Please have a couple of minutes to spare for an explanation of scene circumstances and plot/character background. You will not be charged for the time it takes to explain the circumstances.

what we can get done in this time:

  • multiple takes of your audition

  • additional time for feedback and adjustments

  • In general: 15 minutes of audition time and 15 minutes of feedback/direction

60 MINUTES
This session is great if you've already booked and want to dive deep into your character. It's also great for those who need and warm first before they jump in and just want to talk things out

what we can get done in this time:

  • warm up

  • multiple takes of your audition

  • additional time for feedback and adjustments

  • In general: 15 minutes warmup time and 45 minutes of feedback/direction

Need a longer session? You can reach me through email m.violetharris@gmail.com or DM me on Facebook

FYI: Sometimes I do not receive the calls that come in. So if I don't confirm and you see my beacon on, I'm not ignoring you I promise! If you'd like to book a session with me on here, feel free to email me m.violetharris@gmail.com or send me a DM on Facebook

Director, producer, and writer of narrative shorts "A PRAYER FOR LOVE", "AUDITION", "TINY SEED", "3 HOURS", "THE SEEING ROOM".

For over a decade I’ve freelanced, directed, and produced no-budget indie and student films in the Chicago market.

I'm a talent that knows her set etiquette. Aside from my strong acting instincts, and background in directing, producing, and writing, I’ve worked behind the scenes in every department. Some positions include cinematographer, art director, editor, makeup artist, costumer, grip, 1st AC, 1st AD, 2nd AD, PA.

I'm a proud Chicago native. As a child, I performed in community theater. I've trained in various acting centers in Chicago for 5+ years. Throughout my training experience, I've received praise and encouragement from my mentors.

After booking a strong supporting role in my first independent feature in 2017, I was inspired to take acting seriously.

In 2018 I took the plunge and landed an agent right out the gate with a self-produced monologue series entitled 'i amerika'. That same year I went viral with a parody poetry slam piece produced by The Onion/Clickhole .

The success of that piece inspired me to pursue it further. After much-needed reflection time in 2020 and completing my bachelor's degree in cinematography (2021), I decided to make the move to New York.

In recent years I've pivoted into screenwriting and producing. Currently (2025) developing a musical streaming series with historic figures Aduke Aremu and Voza Rivers .
