Sophia-Brodie

My name is Sophia-Brodie (Brodie was my name at birth; Sophia is my name post-"rebirth.") I am a 28 year old screenwriter/filmmaker/actor currently residing in Oakland. I'm "TRANS," whatever that means. (Really, I'm increasingly unsure, myself, these days...)
I moved to LA from my rural Oregon hometown in 2017 and there I devoted myself to screenwriting, directing, and acting in my first (self-produced) film -- The Lonely Night -- which starred members of the LA LGBT Center's homeless youth.
Upon leaving LA in 2020 and becoming homeless myself for the majority of that year, the laptop that contained the 20+ hours of footage I had shot for this project was stolen and irretrievably lost.
After moving to the SF Bay Area in 2021, I began working on what will become my official debut film detailing many of my experiences on the streets throughout that surreal and ultimately quite "spiritual" journey -- All the World's a Stage.
This is all to say that while my official "acting background" may up to this point leave something to be desired, I have an immense reservoir of emotion and empathy that was inspired in me by the trials I have consistently faced throughout my life. And I love acting, and actors, and art!
I encourage all those who would like to pursue working with me as a "reader" -- irrespective of one's gender identity or beliefs around that -- to give me a try! Particularly if the work is of a more "complex" variety; that's more or less my niche. ;)
