Alice Atwater
Hello! 👋🏼 I’m a character actor, voice actor, and narrator, and I’m excited to help with your audition! I can offer guidance, or I can just be the other voice in your audition.
On and off since 1979, my experience includes plays, musicals, choirs, vocal ensembles, films, commercials, and voiceover. FYI, I LOVE doing accents!
I’m not a coach or teacher, but I’m here to help as much or as little as you wish. I’m confident I can provide an objective ear if you want my thoughts on your reading, or tips if you need help doing an accent. Acting classes are invaluable, but personally, running an online table read group for almost five years was like on the job training in character interpretation and timing, and there’s no better practice for honing cold reading skills.
I love character roles, so whoever you might need me to be to help you get your audition ready to go, I’m here for it. The one limitation I have is foul language for my side of the read. If it’s too rough, I’m sure another reader will be blessed to assist you.
By the way, the accents I have at my disposal include:
• posh British
• working class British
• Irish
• generic eastern European
• American southern
• Long Island NY / Brooklyn(ish) NY
• vintage Indigenous American
• neutral American courtesy of my California childhood…
…among several others. I can pretty easily pick up a new-to-me accent, if needed. This is just a thing I can do, and I love it!
Being newer on the platform, I offer my assistance for only $4 for the first 15 minutes. I’m really looking forward to helping bunches of you get your auditions ready to go.
No matter what, I can’t wait to help you out. Let’s go! Thanks for considering me.
I am a character actor, voiceover artist, and now a fledgling screenwriter. The acting bug bit during high school in the 1970s when I portrayed Abby Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace.
After finding background work in a couple of films, I then stuck to local stage work and singing in vocal ensembles until 2015 in both California and Colorado. At that point, I set my sights on heading back to film, TV, and commercials, and to hone my voiceover skills. Character roles are my joy, both on camera and for voiceover, especially when asked to affect an accent.
Screenwriting is an exciting new challenge for me while aiming to make the most of the second half of my life.
