Yuko is a New York City based actress. She was born in Tokyo, Japan and grew up moving between the UK, US and Japan. She became interested in acting and theater at a young age, joining the Mugensha Theater Company in Tokyo at age 15. She graduated from high school in London, UK, then moved to the US, receiving a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. She brings a unique and unforgettable presence on the screen, rooted in her sensitivity and versatility.
Yuko Torihara is a filmmaker, actress, photographer and writer born in Tokyo and based in NYC. She grew up traveling between Japan, US and the UK and storytelling has been a natural way to make sense of her constantly changing environment. She has a bachelors in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Sundance Humanities Sustainability Fellow ‘22-’23 with her first feature film, Revolutionary Mother. Her documentary Chinatown Beat, featuring author Henry Chang and photographer Corky Lee was acquired by The New Yorker in 2021. She has a recurring role on Ryan Murphy’s upcoming show for Netflix “The Watcher” and has voiced and starred in national campaigns for brands including Starbucks, Citibank, Delta Airlines, Verizon.
