Sarah McVie
Sarah is best known internationally for her role as Val Szalinsky on the Netflix/CBC series Workin’ Moms. More recent credits include recurring roles on The Handmaid's Tale, American Gods and two award winning series for kids: Detention Adventure (HBO Max) and Odd Squad (PBS). In her 25+ years in the profession she has appeared on stages across Canada including five seasons at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival. In her teens, Sarah worked with some exceptional coaches who set her on a path towards the professional acting career she enjoys today. Coaching actors is Sarah’s other passion, and she relishes the opportunity to share her knowledge of the art form with others.
Sarah began her acting career on stage at the age of 11 playing Lucy in a Charlie Brown Christmas. She pursued the craft of acting at a conservatory style post secondary theatre school and soon after joined the Stratford Festival of Canada acting ensemble where she did many roles over five seasons. Sarah has also worked in voice over and animation as well as film and TV. She is best known for seven seasons as a recurring role on the Netflix comedy Workin' Moms.
