Ura Yoana Sanchez

Ura Yoana Sanchez is an actress and writer currently residing in NYC. She obtained a BFA in Acting from Brooklyn College, after which she began acting and writing. Some of her works include the play she cowrote, "The Jedi Papi Chulo and The Power Pansa" which was first seen at The La Tea Theater and later at The Nuyorican Poets Cafe.

Ura Yoana then went on to study film production after which she produced, wrote and directed the short film "SOMNIO" under her compamy CUENTOS DE ADA PRODUCTIONS. SOMNIO is currently in post production.

Cuentos de Ada Productions was founded by Ura Yoana with the purpose of creating universally relevant film and theater productions, which are both inspirational and provocative. Cuentos De Ada (is a play on words meaning “Fairy Tale” in Spanish, as well as the literal translation, “Tales of Ada”; Ada being Ms. Sanchez’ mother, whose legacy lives on through the work of this company).

The mission of Cuentos De Ada Productions is both artistic and social, intentionally presenting diverse images of Latinos and other ethnicities, which can uplift and encourage dialogue among audiences from all walks of life.
