Nathan Coenen

Well G'day! I'm Nathan, a two-time Best Actor winner and I'm delighted to offer my services to you as a reader. I'm a classically trained Australian/British actor living and working between Los Angeles and London (currently in LA).

Having graduated in 2015 from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama, I thankfully come equipped with a ton of acting experience and some fantastic sight reading skills - perfect for those quick, on-the-go reading jobs you have going. As a reader for self-tapes, I've helped numerous friends and colleagues go on to book big shows and credits, most recently being Bridgerton! I also have a bunch of different dialects on hand, including, of course, an on-point standard American and BBC English accent.

Self-tapes can be a stressful pain, or... they can be super fun and creative! I'm keen to make sure it's the latter. Very excited to help support you in whatever way you need - let's connect and grow together.

Testimonials:

“Nathan's range and commitment lead me to cast him in a reading of a play I directed, “Corktown”. Every encounter I am continuously impressed by his talent as an actor and his character as a human being...I truly believe he will become a world leading actor.
- Larry Moss, Director/Acting Coach (for Leonardo DiCaprio, Hillary Swank, Helen Hunt, etc)

"Nathan is the real deal. I have worked with him on several occasions, most recently casting him in the reading of a feature film I wrote and directed. I have no doubt we will all be striving to work with Nathan very soon, and I look for a role for him in every project I do."
- Chad Faust, Director/Writer/Producer (Girl, Billionaire
Boys Club)

“I was producing a short film in Los Angeles that required an exceptionally strong, young male lead. As I was asking around for suggestions, I was astonished when I kept hearing the same name — Nathan Coenen. We cast him as an emotionally disturbed young shooter and he did not disappoint."
- Michael Din, Producer (Pier 3 Pictures)"

Theatrical reviews:

“While all of the performances are competent, layered and complex, it is inevitably Coenen’s role as Cam that pulls focus...Coenen’s performance flits between friendly, fearful and fearsome...he is able to take himself to the emotional brink."
- Miro Magazine

“Nathan Coenen as Cam manages to expertly craft this honest and heartbreaking journey of a man who’s struggling to remember who he is as well as who he used to be. It’s raw and visceral; he leaps between extreme levels of anger, pain, sorrow and laughter with gease, and balance.”
- Pocket Size Theatre

“Coenen is particularly impressive, avoiding the potential trap of making Cam into something of a stereotype and instead showing his situation as the roller-coaster that it is"

Testimonials:

“Nathan's range and commitment lead me to cast him in a reading of a play I directed, “Corktown”. The combination of innocence and dramatic intelligence he brought was vital for the play to work. Every encounter I am continuously impressed by his talent as an actor and his character as a human being...I truly believe he will become a world leading actor.

"Nathan is the real deal. I have worked with him on several occasions, most recently casting him in the reading of a feature film I wrote and directed. Another time I was offered a role as an actor and my condition for accepting was that they cast Nathan opposite me. Each time, he has brought a unique authenticity that only the very best possess. I have no doubt we will all be striving to work with Nathan very soon, and I look for a role for him in every project I do."
