I'm an LA-based, theater-trained, Emmy-voting, TV Academy member and film actor with 20 years of training and 17 years of professional experience. Keen to be of service as a reader, and utilize the service of readers when I'm traveling. Was raised in Australia and the U.K. and have lived in the U.S. 20+ years, so am proficient at multiple dialects.
Trained full-time at Uta Hagen's HB Studio and occasionally with Susan Batson in NYC. Have trained in Larry Moss's masterclass for 10+ years. In LA have spent years with Lesly Kahn, John Rosenfeld & Stan Kirsch, Margie Haber, & KC Clyde. Can just drill you on lines, or direct/coach you if you're open to that =).
Michael is a theatre-trained, Emmy-voting, TV Academy member and film actor. He is an ethnically-ambiguous leading man and character actor, a Northwestern grad, that came to acting after top MBA and law degrees, followed by years of management consulting and as a start-up exec. He quit corporate life to commence full-time theater training in New York and three years later, moved to Los Angeles to become a professional actor.
He is, perhaps, most well-known for his television work, with roles on "Sleepy Hollow" (Fox), “The Wilds” (Amazon), "Criminal Minds" (CBS), "Castle" (ABC) and his heavily recurring role as a villain on “Days of Our Lives” (NBC). He also booked many series regular roles in pilots, including: an "Untitled Fantasy Pilot" (Obsidian Entertainment); "The Flip Side" (sketch comedy); "The Other Brother" (a Grazer comedy); "Blend In" (comedy); and "Flashing Lives" (drama). He recurred in webisodes for "Burn Notice" (USA), and also had a series regular role in the award-winning dramatic series "Breaking Point" - and for that work was nominated as Best Supporting Actor at the Indie Series Awards (2013).
He started his career in independent film, often in lead and strong supporting roles, including in: "Lost Colony: The Legend of Roanoke" (SyFy prime-time premiere); "White Wall" (martial arts film); "2010: Moby Dick"; "Air Collision", & "The Daughter" (Best Thriller) at WorldFest (2013). Two of his films were featured at the Cannes Film Festival: "Flame of the West" and "Check, Please!".
Michael has trained for many years with Larry Moss (masterclass for 10+ years), Austin Pendleton (HB Studio), Lesly Kahn, Stan Kirsch, John Rosenfeld, as well as with Lisa Robertson, Margie Haber, K.C. Clyde, Annie Grindlay, Matt Beisner, Gulu Monteiro, Jean-Louis Rodrigue, Kristof Konrad and at UCB.
Michael has been blessed to have had acting work across the U.S., Europe, Asia and in New Zealand. His other passion is travel, having visited 46 countries and 45 U.S. states, and having lived for many years in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, he is an expert at multiple dialects and can work as a local in many countries and cities.
