Julia Sims

Hello! My name is Julia and I'm an actor, teaching artist, and private acting coach from Philadelphia, PA. I hold a degree in theatre and acting from Temple University, where I was trained by professional actors in the industry such as Amina Robinson (Precious, 2009) and Cheryl Williams (Silver Linings Playbook, 2012).

My goal when teaching/coaching is to help actors trust themselves, trust the process, and foster their individuality. For auditions specifically, I love breaking down the text and exploring how we can let your authenticity radiate. I promote a positive and safe environment where actors can fully explore their characters and creativity.

Here are some testimonials from private students, college-aged and above:

"Exceptional! So incredibly nice, dedicated, and honest. She was prepared, got me monologues ahead of time, and came to my lesson rearing to work. Always deliberate and precise in helping me explore and find what felt most natural for me. Truly amazing, I’m happy to be working with her." -Jarod

"Julia is absolutely amazing. She really knows her craft and genuinely knows how to get you on the right path. If you're ever confused about something she can easily help explain it to you so that you can perfect it and she is so sweet! Love working with her so much!!" Tristen

If you would like to see more reviews, I can direct you to my Take Lessons profile, where I coach my private students. I look forward to working with you!
