Joel Granger

Hi there! I am an Australian actor who is looking forward to being your next reader and/or audition coach.

As a New Zealander based in Australia for the last ten years, I can read in both accents, as well as specializing in General American and UK accents.

I love helping other actors rehearse and audition. I enjoy encouraging actors to explore original choices and am always happy to take as much time as you need until you really feel confident with what you’ve produced. And of course, I’m equally happy to shut up and just be a reader too.

My television credits include Jack in Channel Nine’s True Story with Hamish and Andy and Mark in Please Like Me for ABC/Pivot. On stage, I appeared in the Australian and NZ tour of The Book of Mormon as Elder McKinley, for which I was nominated for a Helpmann Award. Other theatre credits include most recently understudying the roles of Pippin and Charlemagne in Pippin for GFO, as well as playing the roles of Arpad in She Loves Me (Sydney Theatre Award nomination) and Baldwin in Cry-Baby for Hayes Theatre Co., Harry Beaton in The Production Company’s Brigadoon, Tobias Ragg in Sweeney Todd for NZ Opera, Warren in Ordinary Days for Pursued by Bear (Green Room Award nomination), Zacky Price in Big Fish: The Musical, Tom in The Gathering for Vic Theatre Company, Harold Bride in Titanic: The Musical for StageArt, and Bernstein in Dogfight for Doorstep Arts. I am a 2015 graduate of the WAAPA Music Theatre course and was a 2018 finalist for the Rob Guest Endowment.
