I’m Jazmyn D Boone, a “small but mighty” NYC-based actor, singer, and filmmaker from Durham, NC. In May of 2020, I completed my MFA Acting program at The New School for Drama where I cultivated my collaborative theatre-making under industry professionals like Mfoniso Udofia, Peter Jay Fernandez, Stephen Brown-Fried, Daniel Alexander Jones, Sanjit De Silva, and Scott Whitehurst. I have experience as a reader in rooms with casting director, producers, and directors for theatre or film.
Ways I can support you:
- being present with you in the moment
- giving focused and intentional energy to highlight YOUR performance
- giving constructive feedback
- positive and upbeat attitude
- will keep diving into the text with you to find more depth and authenticity.
My name is Jazmyn D Boone, a “small but mighty” NYC based actor and singer originally from Durham, NC. I’m a 2020 MFA Acting graduate from The New School for Drama where I cultivated my collaborative theatre and film making skills. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with international and domestic industry professionals at the Bohemian National Hall, The Performing Garage, and, most recently, in my home over Zoom. For the most part, I’ve been a stage actor collaborating with upcoming playwrights on their new works but I’m eager to break into film and television. I have led three independent short films so far but I know there’s still so much for me to learn. I’m excited by roles that challenge me to contemplate what it means to be human whether that’s a seemingly lighthearted comedy or a deep and dark drama. I’m forever curious and inquisitive to learn more about the human condition and acting allows me to do that. When I’m not acting though, you’ll most likely find me nerding out on manga/anime, reading yet another book on astrology, or updating old recipes from my grandmother.
