Janessa Floyd is a BFA Drama graduate from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. There she trained at both The Meisner Studio and The Stonestreet Studios for Film and TV. She has had the privilege of working with teachers all around the world, studying Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of the Dramatic Arts, Brecht with teachers from the prestigious Ernst Bunst Academy, and Chekhov with artistic director Slava Dolgachev of The Moscow New Drama Theatre. She has continued her training in New York, having studied with Bob Krakower, Clark Middleton, and Maria Dizzia.
She is a proud member of Infinite Variety Productions, a not for profit theatre company dedicated to spotlighting women's stories that have gone unnoticed. Before the pandemic, Janessa starred in "Nellie Bly and the Women of Blackwell" where the play landed top ten immersive plays to see on Time Out New York. She was recently in Magnum P.I.!
