Djaka Souaré
I'm a French & West African actress, born and raised in Paris, France. I started my career in theater at a young age and have extensive stage experience - having worked at prestigious theaters in Paris and Off-Broadway in New York.
I recently starred in HULU's episode of "Black Stories Present: Imagine a Moon Colony", directed by TriBeCa 2019 Award winner, Phillip Youmans, in the short film "Words" with Nicholas Pinnock, and in "Nairobi", produced by Solange Knowles.
I look forward to connecting with actors! I can help with coaching and reading in French, British, or West-African accents! I speak English, French and Spanish fluently.
I am also a writer-director; my short film "Jazz in Wakanda", was selected at film festivals like Urban World, Nitehawk shorts & NewFilmmakers Los Angeles. My second short film was shot with an all-female identifying crew and cast for the LA Women's Weekend Film Challenge.
I used to work as a producer at Goldcrest & Saboteur Media in both documentary & narrative films, overseeing projects from financing to casting.
I'm on djakasouare@gmail.com - if you want to fix up a time in advance.
