Darnelle Nakia Scott was born on April 20th, 1995 in Warrensburg, Missouri, and raised in rural Missouri. Darnelle started out with acting as a child when she would sit in front of the TV and mimic what the actors were doing on the TV. She also would play movies with captions on to re-write the scripts to be able to use them to practice acting. At age 26, after a few years into her professional nursing career, she decided to rekindle the fire and taking acting classes and build her portfolio.
