Hey there!~ My name's Ciarlene (shar-LEEN), she/they, and I'm a professional actor based in San Diego, CA, USA. I got my start in voice and formal music training, but I eventually transitioned back to my original passion--performance. I am an Equity theatre actor and have representation both in San Diego and Los Angeles and have experience doing everything from musical theatre live hosting to high profile industrial and corporate spots.
I also teach all ages acting and music, including audition technique and improv :) I'm experienced and ready to help you achieve your best, at whatever pace you need. I can do everything from baby steps to same day self-tapes.
TRAINING: I hold a BA in Music from UC San Diego, and I have completed 2 years of practicing the Meisner technique taught by direct students of Bill Esper and Maggie Flannagan. In Fall of 2022, I will be beginning my MFA in Acting program in London, UK, studying classical English theatre and contemporary acting work abroad.

Ciarlene Coleman (she/hers) is a San Diego born-and-raised actor, musician, producer, and arts educator. She has performed professionally with La Jolla Playhouse, The Old Globe, San Diego Repertory Theater, New Village Arts, as well as many other organizations across the county.
As an educator and community figure, she consistently advocates for arts communities of color, being a Founding Artistic Director Emeritus of MaArte Theatre Collective, a production company of all-Filipino theatremakers, and a member of the Consortium of Asian American Theaters and Artists (CAATA). She teaches youth theatre and music with San Diego Junior Theatre, and has also worked in K-12 arts education through San Diego Youth Symphony and the La Jolla Playhouse’s annual elementary school touring production, the POP Tour.
Ciarlene is a graduate from the Music Department at UC San Diego and lifelong musician, incorporating her vocals and compositions into her original theatre works, including YOUR BEST AMERICAN GIRL, which received "Outstanding World Premiere'', "Critic’s Pick", and "Best of Fest" from the 2019 San Diego International Fringe Festival.
She is currently signed with CSP Management (LA), Shamon Freitas Talent (San Diego), and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.
