Brian J. Coffey
I was an actor in NYC for over 20 years and moved to Toronto in 2017.
I have an M.F.A. in Acting, and am a member of AEA and ACTRA, with "must join" status in SAG/AFTRA. I have over 70 stage credits and participated in dozens of readings while I lived in NYC. While in NYC, I was an audition reader for regional theatres for several NY casting directors. I also taught and directed for 10 summers at Stagedoor Manor for the Performing Arts in the Catskills (www.stagedoormanor.com) and have had students go on to success as actors, writers and producers.
I toured nationally with Sir Peter Hall's production of "As You Like It" in 2003, with his daughter Rebecca Hall. I also toured nationally with educational productions of "Tartuffe" and "Anne Frank Remembered" for the National Theatre for the Performing Arts, as well as a tour of "Romeo & Juliet" for the Utah Shakespeare Festival and spent a summer in residence at the Texas Shakespeare Festival where I worked with a recent NYU graduate Michael C. Hall.
Since moving to Toronto I am best known for "Murdoch Mysteries," "Ginny & Georgia," "9/11: Cleared for Chaos," and "The Ones Who Have Fallen.”
I love coaching and helping other actors work through their process.
