Alexander Lloyd

With an extensive background in both stage and screen, Alexander has worked on Australian feature films with cinematic releases, and critically acclaimed theatre in Melbourne, Australia. His recent film work includes ‘Awoken’ (2019) where he had the opportunity to act alongside Erik Thomson (Packed To The Rafters), as well as playing teenage heartthrob Jason McCloud in ‘A Second Chance: Rivals!’ (2019). In 2019 on stage he has played the guilt-ridden Toby Ackland in the Australian classic, ‘BlackRock’ by Nick Enright, and lively character roles in Shakespearean Comedies ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’ and ‘Taming of the Shrew’ with the Melbourne Shakespeare Company. This year, Alexander will appear in a co-star role on the new ABC series ‘Why Are You Like This’.

Alexander is a graduate of the Film and Television Studio International Full Time Program (2017), whose previous alumni include Luke Mitchell, and has trained with esteemed local international actors and teachers. This training includes screen acting intensives with the ‘Real Life Actor’ Jeff Seymour and Damian Walshe-Howling (Underbelly, Janet King); immersive Character Based improvisation training with Rob Marchand; and multiple classes and private tuition from Tony Knight, who has trained actors such as Cate Blanchett and Sam Worthington at NIDA.

A writer and producer, Alexander is in pre-production for his first short film ‘Shards of Glass’, a story about the Australian meth crisis that he has co-written, co-produced, and will be starring in. Alexander is also passionate about music and was recently awarded Honours for his eighth grade piano exam. He has trained with master singing teachers David Gauci, Matthew Lee Robinson, and Lisa Marie Parker, and in recent productions he can be seen singing on stage with a guitar in hand, or in front of a piano, and he relishes the challenge of learning new instruments.

Having graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Laws from Adelaide University while studying acting full time, and working professionally, Alexander is now fully committed to the life of the artist. He will be carrying this discipline and determination into 2020 as he looks forward to booking his first US role in Pilot Season.
